"If your opponent is of choleric temper, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, so he may grow arrogant"
-Sun Tzu
Sense of awareness, both 'self' and 'situational' that is being able to assess the situation you may be walking into, or are already in, with your mind, your body and your surrounding. This is the most important LIFE tool you will either have or need to develop. To walk in a room, and within a second or two be able to know the exit, the number of people, bulges on the side pockets, knives, clips, gun, etc.
Combat techniques used by Special Forces have been pressure tested under the most difficult situations possible. Sudden assaults from an unexpected direction are the hallmark of special forces operations.
"What is big is easy to perceive, what is small is difficult to perceive"
-Miyamoto Musashi
One most disturbing thing I see, when I drive my kids to school in the morning, is the kids walking to school on the sidewalk, all alone, lost in their little innocent world. And this is to all you parents out there. STOP. Please don't let your kids walk alone. Let kids be kids. What will you do, if a car pulls next to the kid, and snatches her away. Drive your kids to school, walk with them to school. How the heck you let your 4 year old, 5 year old, 6, 7 year old baby walk to school with a heavy bag pack. They are not aware of their surrounding, their mind is developing, and it is called the formative years. Some of us went through a traumatic experience when we were little kids, and somehow, our brain skipped some essential areas of formative development, and trust me, it comes out later in life. Fear, Depression, Anxiety, Anger, Rage.
